The pharmaceutical logistics network celebrates its anniversary
GDP network solutions looks back on two eventful business years in which the transport network was able to successfully establish itself on the market despite social crises. It is characterised by temperature-controlled and transparent logistics processes for pharmaceuticals as well as other sensitive goods and offers a high delivery reliability as well as a vanishingly low damage rate of 0.005 per cent.
The GDP network solutions was founded on 06.07.2020. Exactly two years later, not only the anniversary of the pharmaceutical logistics network is celebrated in Biebesheim am Rhein, but also the introduction of single parcel shipping. Another novelty: the shipments can now be tracked with temperature data in real time via Track & Trace on the web. "We offer our customers a comprehensive range of services from full loads to parcels - also as express shipments on request," reports Jürgen Oetzel, managing director of GDP network solutions GmbH. "We are currently oriented towards the volume of the German market, but plan to expand into other European countries such as the D-A-CH states in the future."
Ten pharmaceutical logistics companies under one brand
The vision of a nationwide pharmaceutical logistics network emerged back in 2018 as part of a merger of several logistics companies from the SME sector. In March 2020, ten transport companies finally founded a nationwide logistics network. This was the birth of the GDP network solutions brand. Together, they set the course and defined core principles and values for the cooperation. In the foreground, according to the understanding of the medium-sized and owner-managed companies of the network, is the use of already existing GDP structures and capacities. In addition to the temperature-controlled transport of medicines from the field of human medicine, GDP network solutions also offers the best possible logistics solution for recipient, consignor and product groups in the segments of veterinary medicines and cosmetics with high quality and GDP requirements. "On behalf of our customers, we also transport medical and medical products as well as goods from the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors without GDP requirements," Oetzel continues. "We offer logistics concepts that are specially tailored to our customers' requirements. Maintaining the quality and integrity of the transported goods always has the highest priority." Individual services such as LTL and FTL transports, BTM logistics, pharmaceutical warehousing and other GxP services are also covered by the network partners.
